Welcoming. Vibrant. Safe. These are some of the words parents use to describe the Beacon campus.
Spacious classrooms provide ample room for everything from mathematics to studio art. The building houses separate early childhood facilities, the Elementary School, and the Middle School. The school includes a fully-equipped science laboratory, two computer labs, as well as dedicated art rooms, dance rooms, and music rooms.
The large Beacon Community Room hosts a range of events, including the student art show, musical concerts, dance performances, assemblies, Grandparents/Grandfriends Day, and other community gatherings.
The spacious urban playground provides creative opportunities for outdoor play and physical activity, and includes a large educational garden.
The building, play areas, and front and back parking lots are on a pleasant and convenient site along the Oakland waterfront, just off Interstate 880, directly south of Jack London Square and across the Park Street Bridge from Alameda.
